Located on the island of Chios, the Stoupakis family has been distilling spirits since 1896 in small quantities. In 2008 the family distillery was modernized and a new facility was built to distill and produce the Masticha, a liqueur made with Mastic tree resin and Kazanisto ouzo. The Mastic tree is indigenous to the island of Chios and is the only place it grows in Greece. Mastiha is an excellent ingredient for specialty cocktails as it adds a wonderful herbal note.
